"Spain is our favorite restaurant in the Ironbound. The food is wonderful and copious. The waiters are courtly and gracious. Try the garlic chicken, the paella or any fish dish. There is free parking in their own lot across the street. Don't be fooled by the unpretentious exterior the inside is warm and comfortable. It also features an excellent wine list. Prices are very reasonable."

"Spanish Sangria a solid Newark restaurant. Being an out of town traveler, finding a decent restaurant in Newark can be a challenge; the pickings are pretty slim. After eating at Spanish Sangria, I can finally say, 'I found a decent restaurant in Newark. ' The interior was clean and modern. The bar was filled with what appeared to be a jovial group of locals with everyone speaking Spanish. Or was it Portugese? I don 't know don 't speak either one. <br/ <br/ The meal starts with the obligatory bread, which tasted freshly baked. They also serve a very nice onion soup with what tasted like home made croutons to garnish. I ordered clams Valenciana as a starter $11 . This was a generous portion of clams approximately 18 in a marinara sauce that had a smokey, peppery flavor. My main course was a paella $20 with lobster, shrimp, calamari, clams, mussels, chicken, vegetables and rice. There was enough food to feed three hungry adults. That said, it was a bit dry and a bit over cooked. The signature sangria $5 was good, but unremarkable. Service was impeccably attentive.<br/ <br/ The Spanish Sangria might have a bit of trouble competing across the river in NYC. But in Newark, it is a real find worth trying."

"First time there on a date. Parking is free around corner in a secure garage/lot huge convenience in this area. Easy safe walk to restaurant. Politest staff, beautiful and huge inside. Giant imported wine list and other drinks, tasty. Food however…was the best I have had in a while. Shared the NZ clams broth was A . We normally avoid bread. This time had to order extra just for the broth. Main dishes were amazing as well: grilled whole sea bass for me, salmon with scallops for wife… we were both in awe at the perfection. Finger licking, old world, rich yet simple, not overly elaborate or experimental food. We love seafood. We decided that this specific cuisine, if this is what it tastes like, tops the list of any other. Which neither expected. My tastebuds are still daydreaming about it. Must return asap."

"Friendly service and the food was fresh and priced accordingly. It wasn’t greasy. The wontons in the soup were a little hard. The beef a little salty, but for a place in the Ironbound, it’s ok. Chinese food seems to be much better in the nicer neighborhoods…. But if I’m craving it, and don’t want to drive, this will do."
