"Buffet at Alex III tonight... I haven't visited this restaurant in ages and I must say that some of it's charm has faded through the years... The hosptality of the staff remains the same by comparison... We had many dishes to choose from and I started with some of their maki. It was a little odd to see that on the menu of a Filipino restaurant, but theirs were okay. I also tried their house salad which I did like having a lot of fruits mixed in. The rest were viands which I did enjoy lapu lapu with garlic sauce, sotanghon guisado, pork belly in mushroom sauce, and the lechon de leche as pictured. I didn't like the beef shortribs kare kare that much, just because I prefer that thick peanut sauce. But I think their chicken barbecue is really good and they maintained the quality all these years. Really one of their best dishes. I did have to skip dessert because I was too full already. Btw, the garlic coated peanuts are pretty addicting!"

"Merkanto Street has been one of the most awaited stops during our Maginhawa food crawl. With J’s new found love for banh mi and R’s interest in Indian food, we had to make sure that we head here as soon as when the clock strikes 4 p.m..

Hello, Merkanto Street International Street Food! (Whew, that’s a mouthful.)

The humble car wash and food park in one was empty when we got there around 4:30 p.m. and sadly, there was only one stall open at that time as most open at 5 p.m.. This made choosing easier as we’re stuck with Viet Nom, a stall that sells Vietnamese dishes. (Check Viet Nom for my review about its dishes.)

Since we were still there at 5 p.m., R2 went with a Roti from the Indian stall and shared it with us.

We failed to convince J to try the curry dip but he was game enough to put a dot of garlic sauce on his piece of Roti. I tried both dips and as much as I love the white sauce, I enjoyed the roti more with the curry dip. The curry flavor was... read more"

"Taste and food variations are good for the price. :) It is much better than to spend the same amount at fastfood resto. Moreover, maybe you could use gravy or all around sarsa for lechon kawali and chicken than soy sauce and ketchup. Many ingredients are available for halu halo but maybe you could try syrups than white sugar. There is also a room for improvement for the fried dumplings and chili garlic sauce. :) House blend and green iced tea tastes very good.

I like the design and ambience of the restaurant. Since there are many customers, I recommend to improve airconditioning unit since the restaurant has many customers. Actually many split type aircons are already installed, maybe filter needs frequent cleaning or higher hp? or you need to use floor mounted aircon instead.

Although we didn't eat outside (garden area), I've observed that customers are having a hard time getting their food inside the resto since it's raining. Maybe you could build a canopy extending to the tent so that they do not need to use umbrellas every now and then especially for the kids.

Overall, I had a great experience. :)"

"I had no expectations when I first entered Shawarma Bros one weekend. All I knew was that they started out as a food truck before setting up their first branch. They have now expanded to branches all over the metro.

Being a first timer, I was unfamiliar with their menu. I found their servers helpful, but a little impatient. We ordered the Beef Shawarma rice with Keema on the side. My fiancé and I liked the beef shawarma-- generous serving, very tasty and fills you up fast! You can add more flavor if you want-- they have cheese sauce, garlic sauce, and hot sauce. Honestly, I prefer Mister Kabab's keema, but that's personal preference. I like my keema with pita bread; SB's version comes with toasted pita strips... We thought it was okay...

I'm coming back for the lamb!????????"

"After my escapade at Rave Rainforest Adventure Park, Pasig City. I went to Cubao to have lunch.

By that time, I am craving for Kabab and Keema and I remember that Mister Kabab had a Cubao branch already located at the Manhattan Parkview, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City. Then I went there for lunch.

I choose Special Chelo Kabab (Beef) for Php190.00 it comes up with Rice and Keema (Ground Beef with Tomato and Chili) for Php110.00, with extra eggplant add Php15.00 or you want it sizzling for a total of Php180.00.????

Special Chelo Kabab - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

Keema (Ground Beef with Tomato and Chili) - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

The two dishes were not complete if there's no white and red sauce. The white sauce is the legendary garlic sauce and the red one is the hot sauce, tomato base. ????

Mister Kabab have several branches in the metro. I remember my first time ate here (not in this branch) since I was in college. The first branch was in Delta... read more"

"This branch will always be memorable to me. This is where my husband (then bestfriend) has our first "unofficial" date. :) So whenever we're around the area, this is where we eat.

Food: We just love the Beef Pepper rice. It's fun to eat, it's like cooking your own meal. It's tender, it's flavorful and the sauces are perfect.

Service: They serve fast, the staff are also friendly and patient in explaining the process.

Place: They have lots of seats available and the place is spacious. every table has it's own exhaust."

"Note: Late Review.

The only reason why i wanted to swing by Merkanto is the Sadak. I love Indian Food and i am the only one in my family that happens to like this type of cuisine.

Me and my homies arrived a lil early and Sadak is still closed. This is a test of my EQ. We ate some Vietnamese food first, this appeased me a lil bit.

India stall opened shortly after we finished eating our Vietnamese grub.

I got some Roti for takeway, significant other duties. CMA misses the Roti with curry dip at the now defunct Long Grain at Power Plant. He seems happy with the India's version of pancake. The curry lacks the flavor I'm looking for but it's decent. The roti retained it's soft x chewy texture the morning after."
