"Mmm, Avec was wonderful and probably the best part of my trip to Chicago. We went to the west loop Avec and fortunately were able to make a reservation the night before. I wasn't sure what to expect, so we ordered some dishes we saw repeated on other Yelp reviews.... Deluxe Focaccia: 5/5, especially with honey. This was unlike any focaccia I have had before, the goat cheese in the middle really adds a delightful lightness and the honey gives it the tiniest bit of sweetness. I could eat this for days. Chorizo Stuffed Medjool Dates: 4/5, pretty good but nothing mindblowing. Grilled Shrimp: 5/5, the polenta here is the best I've ever had. The shrimp was fine but the polenta and egg were perfection. I loved this dish. I would love to come back for dinner and try even more! You can tell that they have really thought about the food and how to make the Mediterranean flavors pop in a creative way."
