"First visit since the pub has changed ownership to greene king and we had an amazing experience. We went with our 3 year old and although the full menu wasn’t on (carvery and starters only the staff were brilliant and straight away offered to make our daughter chicken nuggets chips and peas Trish and Lizzie couldn’t have been more helpful and even brought some colouring over for her to do. We had 5 starters for £16 absolute bargain quality was great and portions were big (we could have managed with 3 for £11! . Chicken wings my personal favourite Nice outdoor section (next to canal and massive car park, all in all amazing value, great staff and lovely location. We’ll definitely be back!"

"This is a pub we’ve lunched at many times in the past and our first time since the new owners took over. Whilst the food was good, I too found it overpriced, especially for the children’s meal. Two fish goujons, chips and peas….not much return for £7!! (Could have served up four goujons at least). Sweets starting at £7 , no thank you. The blonde behind the bar was far from customer-friendly. We won’t be returning, sadly. On to pastures new……"

"Let me stress that I like this pub. I will continue to go, but I have ongoing niggles which could be easily addressed, but thus far haven’t. The Sunday lunch is good but someone in the kitchen is an abject failure at making Yorkshire pudding....To be honest they would be better off buying them in rather than trying to make them. They are as flat as a pancake. Secondly, cauliflower cheese.... insipid. Guys/girls the hint is in the title.....cheese.....it was runny and pretty devoid of cheese. Grate some cheese on the top then put it under the grill put some English mustard in it, or just google a recipe for cauliflower cheese, but don’t serve up cauliflower covered in the equivalent of whitewash. The stuffing was undercooked too thick and claggy. Turkey is always a safe option in my view. Other than that I enjoyed it!!."

"Had a wonderful evening celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a warm welcome on arrival and escorted to our table with a complimentary glass of champagne. The food and the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Defiantly recommend this restaurant whether it's a soecial occasion or just a meal out with friends. Thank you for making it a special evening"

"It looks beautiful here. it is also clean. the toilets are in order. the personal seems nice. my only handle is the menu, which is why we didn't eat here. not a good and interesting choice of vegan foods. there are so many vegan swaps that would be easy with dinner. the vegan food card could be tripled without much immature. the vegan puddings were boring. I can buy vegan ice at tesco. If I get out, I want a vegan something that's been thinking more. there are stacks of vegan butters, regular dark chocolate and vegan whipped cream that could easily be made to a pudding. Apart from eating, I would definitely come back to a quiet drink."
