"Kreta Ayer Chatswood is one to avoid at all costs. We went there after seeing how busy it was. However, this was a mistake. We had the worst crab here. It was the most overcooked crab I have ever had. There was no juice left in the crab and the sauce was overly salty. The food was bad but the service was worse. After waiting for an hour, we were finally given a table but was told the cashier was now closing so we were asked to pay straight away. This was well before closing time and before the kitchen had closed. They then mistakenly gave us another table's dish and we were given someone else's dish. 2 separate incidents. They also forgot to make one of our dishes and refused to cook it because the kitchen had closed. They insisted we should just take our money back for the dish. Only after complaining, did they cook it. It was a rushed job too so it wasn't done properly. By this time, all the staff were wanting to go home. They had their jackets on!! We were asked many times if we were finished. We hadn't been there that long before they started doing this. Don't risk it folks, There are many great restaurants in Chatswood. Going here will ruin your night. Eat elsewhere."

"I don't usually have experience as bad as this one, but I really don't have anything good to say about this place. The main I ordered was pappa wat tan hor, a typical Malaysian dish, which this Malay restaurant failed to deliver on, watery noodles and terrible sauce. We ordered the bean curd skin roll as a dim sim to share, what can I say , purely disgusting , even my tolerant friend refused to eat them. Anyway, way worse than the Mamak at Chatswood station , don't waste your time and money there."

"Feeling the need to be slightly healthy and having something wholesome, Hainan Chicken Rice seemed to be the good option tonight.<br> <br> East West ran out of Hainan Chicken Rice and I was on a mission to kill the craving so May's it was. It's not the first time I've had it at Mays so knew what to expect. Usually May's tries to offer more value being in direct competition; there's a few more pieces of chicken and the chicken is served warm compared to East West.&nbsp;<br> <br> The chicken arrived looking slightly overcooked (and it was), the rice was bright yellow lacking the distinct chicken and ginger flavour and the soup was slightly spoiled with a sour note due to the being left out for too long. This usually occurs on a hot day today was mid 30s. The chicken is normally quite good so I excused it on this occasion but there is no excuse for the soup.<br> <br> Unfortunately, work ethic seems to be a consistent theme here. The last time I had the combination noodles, the beef was very... <a class="read-more" href="#">read more</a>"

"Great place if you like Sichuan! Worth trying. Varying degrees of spiciness on dishes. Dishes are big so can order but more and take away for later too. Some of the dishes are great for a group of friends to just sit, nibble on and drink beer. Good place to spend a lazy weekend afternoon sitting at a table near the window and chatting."

"Sat on Chatswood-Mamak for the second time in two weeks. the first visit last week was decent, fast eating, service staff were polite. after last night we never go back. the personal was rude, a lady rolled her eyes when we asked. glass for our wine. a person on our table drink no wine, they wanted to charge us for the glass, even what was never used! for a load that lets us order on app or counter and quite simply brings the food to the table, they would think they would be polite and not just mumble under their breath and not look at them when they look for a knife to cut something or water. we spent in the days and after the last night not spending my money here anymore. I have worked in the service industry for years and it does not take much to be polite. we always tap from this ground at the end of our meal. the app tried to get us to drink before we got our meals. I'm glad I didn't do it!"
