"This was the worst meal I've had in a Santa Barbara restaurant in recent memory. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. My wife and I started with goat cheese salad and salade Nicoise. These plates start with the same basic construction: a pile of iceberg lettuce leaves, slices of hardboiled egg around the perimeter, a few cooked green beans, and underripe generic tomato. The salad was topped with mediocre goat cheese smeared on baguette slices with honey, toasted in a salamander, drying out the cheese. Utterly pathetic was the Nicoise. On top of the same basic salad plate, there were a few pieces of Lyonniase potato that's right, the cheesy potato normally served as a dinner side. There was some raw red onion, and an oddball mixture of canned tuna and rice! Rice on a Nicoise! You gotta be kidding me! I sent this unfortunate disaster back to the kitchen to rethink. Where were the olives? Back came the same basic iceberg lettuce plate with tuna, no rice, no boiled potato (which should have been on the Nicoise), Lindsey pitted black olives. Since when does Nicoise not have Nicoise olives or Kalamata? How can a supposed French Bistro show such ignorance of French cuisine? It is as if the owner hired somebody trying to learn his way on the job with nothing but a bunch of recipe cards, though how they came up with rice on a Nicoise is befuddling. With the farmer market, why can't they buy a local mesclun mix and ripe tomato? The mains were over priced for what they were. My wife's salmon with a cream sauce seemed OK by looks, but I did not taste it. I ordered Magret. The half breast was split lengthwise, roasted OK, and served on a strange reduction sauce that appeared to be bolstered with honey and a starch thickener. The skin on the duck was tough because it had been roasted, not seared. The sides consisted of a stack of Lyonnaise potato, dried out and almost raw inside, burned outside. A little ratatouille was superfluous, not matching the food."

"Denise et Marius est un très bon restaurant : les produits sont frais, et le menu n'est pas si cher comparé à d'autres offres (12e plat - dessert).Les burgers sont un délices !Un peu long pour le service, mais le temps de préparation se comprend étant donné que rien n'est surgelé.Thibault (le gérant) met de la bonne humeur avant de repartir au travail."
