"Firstly I agree with a previous poster: this place needs a proper large sign outside as it's easy to walk past.The Good: the service was attentive, efficient and helpful in all respects. Much better than most small Australian town service levels. The alu gobi was well cooked and tasty as was the basmati rice (good quality and correctly cooked being nice and fluffy). The pickle selection was good with a wonderful sour mixed pickle to offset the heat of the vinvaloo curry.The average: the chicken vindaloo really is not hot enough and was of a relatively simple and crudely spiced variety. Needs more depth of flavour as well as heat. The kashmiri naan was too thin and crispy (and is in competition with a world class naan across the road at Gourmet India). The ambience is a bit dead, the place is too big, too many tables (and frighteningly, probably too much business overhead).The bad: the paneer as a starter is completely tasteless with nondescript sauces.Overall the food is well edible but like all Indian places I've eaten in Australia lacks real depth and authenticity. The chef needs to return to his true Indian roots, fire up the food and give us the real taste of the sub continent."
