"We were visiting San Diego and were looking for somewhere to have a nice dinner date. After reading tons of reviews I chose Osetra. When entering there is a weird smell in the restaurant. The ambiance was perfect a date/special occasion. Food looks awesome, but the taste was good not great."

"Everything we had was amazing!! Black Rooster is a must try if you are from the area or not! I'd also recommend the rooftop bar! We sat down below outside and could see the river! It was lovely! Best crème brûlée in town!!"

"I love Italian cuisine and have had the good fortune to sample several regional variations across Italy. The one thing that makes it authentic is when they focus on making the most of locally available ingredients. Vita Bella carries on this tradition beautifully. I was pleased to see so many locally sourced ingredients and wines on the menu. In spite of the fact that it was a busy Saturday night, the service was friendly and each course came out quickly. I was glad I ordered a fairly small appetizer (escargot) as my pasta serving was quite large. I chose Linguine Fornate which was made with fresh noodles, smoked duck breast, assorted wild mushrooms and a creamy sun dried tomato pesto. The duck was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and there was just a hint of smokiness that didn't overpower the dish. My wife ordered Insalata Caprese and Fettuccine Granchia (a creamy Dungeness crab sauce). She enjoyed both but the salad was quite large and she had quite a bit of the pasta left over. In spite of this, we still ordered desserts (it's not Italian without the dolce!). She had tiramisu and I had a chocolate pavé. The tiramisu was lighter and cakier than we like with less coffee flavouring but still enjoyable. I love chocolate and the pavé was perfectly creamy and not too sweet. All in all, if you want a dinner prepared in the Italian tradition, Vita Bella is well worth a try. This definitely won't be our last visit and we're already planning to attend some of their autumn cooking classes."
