"We had visited the Queen Victoria many years ago and loved it and as the opportunity arose to meet family passing through the area this weekend we took a punt on it being good still and booked in to have lunch. Turned out to be an excellent idea! The food is delightful, good portion sizes, lots of choice and tasty. Think it's the first place I've had halloumi fries where they've stayed hot because they have the sense to serve them in a hot tapas type dish. The main event for me was the beef shin and ale pie one of the nicest pies I've ever had with plenty of fresh veg and a hearty serving of mash and gravy. We actually skipped dessert because they were running a Macmillan Coffee Morning cake stall and so for a donation we tucked in to delicious home made cakes instead. Food aside, a pub/restaurant is not a place without its staff and there is a noticeable difference to the places we usually visit in more central London zones. The team are friendly, helpful, and run like clockwork. Wish more places had a team like them big shout out to Petra and the young guy in her team for looking after us! It has a sizable outdoor seating area and a car park, though it's only a 5 min walk from the tube station. As you can tell, I am a fan and would not hesitate to recommend visiting. Had I not had kids as part of the party meeting up then I would have loved to have settled in to their lovely bar area for a drink, it looked very comfortable!"
