"I've been here before but took my cousin here for her birthday dinner. We were initially sat in a cramped corner but our server was so sweet and moved us by the window. Not only does this place have amazing food but you will get over the top service as well! Our server Christina was the sweetest and I would definitely come back just because of her! To start, we shared the grilled octopus which was one of their daily specials. It was so delicious and the sauces and small poached egg paired perfectly together. Christina also sent our table a surprise which was baked focaccia bread. It was soooo good and cheesy and the sweetest gesture. For mains, my cousin had the spaghetti which came with a yummy piece of bacon. I myself had the short rib ravioli, which was another special that day. It was so good I could have eaten two servings. I really liked the cream sauce that was used and the meat was flavorful and tender. Since my cousin is pregnant, she only had pineapple soda to drink. Christina was so cute and offered me some special red wine which I could not stop drinking lol. For dessert we has another special, a lemon pie, and the creme brulee. Both choices balanced each other out perfectly (sweet and tart). I will definitely come back again!"

"Classic Canadian Pizza!. Another great place for pizza if you like your pizza covered with lots of cheese and toppings. If you are a fan of the mom and pop pizza places that your parents took you to when you were little you will love this place!!!<br/ <br/ If however, your into wafer thin whole wheat organic pizza that caters to the urban yuppies the new age crowd, than probably not your bag, its old school commercial drive!"

"Dined at Sidecar during dine-out vancouver. The food was not bad, however the service was no great shakes. They had a set menu for the dine-out people, had some good choices. I started with the baked brie, came with only 3 small slices of toasted french bread, not enough for the amount of cheese and the roasted garlic was overcooked and really messy to get at. As a main I had the chicken confit, this was very good, chicken fell off bone, scalloped potatoes were done with a lovely crust and the braised greens were fantastic - that was the best part - should have been more of that. The dessert they served was way too sweet, it was beignets and I guess there was supposed to be a filling, but I couldn't find it. The biggest problem was the service, one of the ladies who was with us has a real problem with gluten and they had no options for that at all. She ended up with a steak, which she said was very tasty and was served with fries. However the waiter decided that we should all have our food at the same time so she got her dinner at the same time as our appetizers, he did apologize but that was kind of weird. Then when I got my bill I saw that my wine was $22/glass (it was good but not that good) and when I questioned the waiter he said that he had given me the 9oz glass instead of the 5oz glass which was $15/glass. I did not see that option on the menu and it's really hard to see as everything is in really tiny print and it's quite dark. I will give it another try just to make sure but I'll be more careful next time."
