"We came at 7:30 pm and asked kindly for a table, there have been 3 free tables. He told us to come back at 8:15 pm, not very kindly and in a hurry. We came back in time, the same tables were free but the waitress told us that they don’t take anyone for today anymore. She has been kind but he didn’t wanted to explain. We felt not welcome and we had to leave and get somewhere else. Difficult at the late hour."

"We stayed here for bed and breakfast for one night. It's a small family business and the two owners were very friendly and welcoming. There is a large selection of whiskies and gins and a cosy little bar. The room we had was on the...small side but ideal for one night. Breakfast was freshly prepared and a good choice."

"Of us had booked a table for an evening birthday celebration. It took nearly hours for our food to arrive. When it did, one of the orders was completely wrong the vegetarian in our group was given a chicken curry, not what...she'd ordered and the sauce was omitted from the biryani order. The waiter was very grumpy and snappy when we complained, arguing that it was our mistake, not theirs. Another minutes passed before that was rectified. When the food finally arrived, the sauces were delicious but my lamb was very tough and completely tasteless. We asked for a bottle of water for the table but were only given glasses with it so of us had to use our empty drinks glasses for the water. We were belatedly offered a free drink from the bar in compensation for the unacceptable delay in the food arriving but most of us were driving so were only drinking water by then so it was a very cheap round. To cap it off, the credit card machine had broken so they would only take cash in payment. Fortunately, there is a cash machine a short walk away so we were able to get cash out to pay the bill. We won't be back there any time soon."

"Best take away in the area. Brilliant service and food was excellent. if you’re going to treat yourself to a take away in lockdown this is where to go. food is delicious and Martin and his team are so accommodating. Great vegetarian options and plenty...choices for non-veg."

"Some friends took us to the Boar's Head Tandoori a few days ago. It's a little out of town so would not know it was there. Looks pretty unassuming but the food is excellent and the service very friendly. Tried a Fish curry and Lamb dish. Both were exceptional very tender, good taste. I found the fish curry a real find since I've not had that before. Well worth the drive!"

"We started with their Crispy Squid and Onion Soup. The squid was delicious and the onion soup very tasty. For mains we had their Lamb chops, Veal chops, and a steak. Each was served with triple cooked chips (French fries), rocket salad with parmesan and either peppercorn sauce or red wine jus. Each of the meats was cooked perfectly and were most tasty. The triple cooked chips were excellent and the peppercorn sauce heavenly. For dessert we chose Sticky Toffee pudding, whiskey iced parfait and a Scottish cheese board. The Sticky pudding was the best we have had and the parfait light and very nicely done as was the cheese board. Service was excellent and the restaurant clearly a very popular destination."
