"Came here for dinner with family to celebrate a birthday and was really disapointed. While the pub itself is quite nice everything else was not. Drinks were expensive and the London Pride was not good at all. We were seated in a corner which was very uncomfortable, small enclosed and claustrophobic. I asked if we could be moved to another table and was told by the manageress (I think) whom stared scornfully at me, that they were very busy, but she would have a look. There were plenty of tables free and we were seated at one of these. After awhile a waiter eventully came over to our table to take our order. We weren't quite ready to order so we place an order for drinks. About 10-15 minutes later the waiter returned to take our food order, I asked were our drinks were, the waiter apologized and said he totally forgot. We placed our order and after a long wait our food arrived. My son ordered the Honey Gazed Pork Belly on the bone. He was served the BBQ spare ribs which were very dry and burnt to a crisp and very costly for a rack of ribs. I had fish and chips which was a good size plate of food but sadly, the cod was old and tasted stale. I had to leave most of it. Another of our party had the beef and ale pie which, I was told was not very good. I looked at the menu on the website to see what food was on offer and the prices before we came so, was extremley supprised and shocked to find that the menu pricing on The Ivy Tree menu at the table were totally different. The prices had increased by at least £2-3 on all the items on offer. 10% services charge was added to our bill which I wish we had questioned and had removed as the service was very slow, but I must say most of the serving staff were friendly and pleasent. We spent just under £35 per head, had one drink, each and average pub grub. They need to get the website pricing up to date. By the time we left there was still plenty of tables available for other diners to use. Shame, was really looking forward to it."
