"My husband and I came here for lunch as a treat, great sunny terrace, friendly service. We sat in the table service section, which was not cheap but the food was great and service, excellent. We were allowed to take our time - nothing was rushed, unusual for a French establishment!"

"This place has got to be one of the best restaurants we've been to on our many trips to the Alps.The restaurant is part of the hotel we were staying at, and as such we ate in here pretty much every night.The prices are far from cheap (but after all you're in Meribel, so I'm sure it's no more expensive than anywhere else here.) Our meals were included in our hotel/holiday price, so I think we got amazing value overall with the hotel, facilities, and being able to eat in the restaurant every night.The food was excellent, and the portions are enormous. The staff were excellent, super friendly, keen to explain the food choices, and often providing complimentary drinks to finish the evening.All the food choices were superb, but the French onion soup was the best I've ever had, and the rack of lamb was to die for. The desserts were rich and filling, but all made onsite. Couldn't fault the place, really loved the rustic atmosphere and buzz of the place.Thoroughly recommended."

"The VIP food card is a huge joke. A croque gentleman "giant" at 60 euros less than that of the SNCF. Coquills swimming in oil at 50 euros. A passable truffle pizza. A sketch from end to end, you have to do something. Very good atmosphere and friendly staff except that."

"We had dinner tonight at Le Martagon, a summer evening, most alternatives closed. We came on recommendation and we were very happy for the experience. Excellent food, surprisingly prepared salad and fantastic meat 'a la plancha'. Good relation between quality and price. Who wants to have a decent dish does not have to expect any sort of deception. We were delighted, especially by the exceptionally friendly service. Good selection of wines."

"My husband and I celebrated a special occasion during our skiing holiday and decided to try L'Ekrin. We selected the tasting menu and it was an interesting experience. Some of the courses were excellent, others seemed to be more about the presentation than the taste....Service was very slow at the beginning of our meal, which took nearly 4 hours in total but we thought it was worth the wait. The service was impeccable and the wine pairings were imaginative and well presented by the sommelier. It is always expensive eating well in a resort such as Meribel, but the cost here makes this definitely a special occasion restaurant for most people."

"Ideally placed restaurant (bottom of the trout on the right), sunny terrace, sun loungers! The dishes are very good, be it pasta, burgers, tartar. We were a big tab and all satisfied! Children's menus are actually dishes such as those offered to adults! I'll do it again!"

"Just stopping here for lunch. Lots of the menu was unavailable but it is half 4 in the afternoon at the end of the season. Although nothing vegetarian which is always a nightmare, the lovely waitress haggled some cheese onto my chips. Really lovely staff...with a lovely mountain view."
