"Perhaps it is unreasonable to expect that the gluten free toast would be enjoyable on a Monday morning at opening hour. Mine was practically impossible to cut. Poached eggs and wilted spinach were excellent; sadly no marmalade. Unfortunately practically every breakfast item contained pork products....The coffee was average. Staff were very friendly to locals and visitors alike."

"I was going to visit the other Indian restaurant in Morwell where I have eaten previously, but with so many good reviews on here I thought I'd give the Punjab Court House a try instead for dinner while passing through one night. It was quiet,...with only a few other people dining at the time. Service was polite and quick. The restaurant ambience was okay, nothing great but quite acceptable. Reading the menu I thought it maybe a bit more limited than many other Indian restaurants, and with items quite clearly and simply explained perhaps catering to a local clientele without a lot of familiarity with Indian food. Prices were pretty standard for that type of food. They do not serve alcohol, but you can BYO. When the meal came, a lamb dish, it was perfectly acceptable. No real complaints about it, but as quite a keen diner in Indian restaurants I found it a little on the bland side not as much flavour or spices as I would usually expect. Perhaps more like a lamb casserole than a typical Indian dish. The basmati rice was excellent, cooked to perfection. Unfortunately the naan, which I usually relish, was overcooked (dare I say a bit burnt) and therefore a bit dried out and also not that tasty. Serving size of the meal was quite acceptable. I would rate this as a reasonable meal, nothing exceptional, but nothing offensive (overdone naan notwithstanding). I have been trying to reconcile the string of outstanding reviews on TA with the meal I had, and my feeling is that the owners are catering to the local market. While many of the locals are perhaps looking for a bit of exotic variety, they may still tend to favour a plainer version of Indian food, thus the popularity of this Australianised Indian. So the message may be that this is a great local option, but those with a wider experience of Indian may find it a little underwhelming."
