"Also from the large party of 12 on Monday. We had already walked into a pub just around the corner, only to be greeted with looks of youre not a local . It was all a little bit League of Gentleman . Further up the road we found the royal sportsman. The lady working the bar/waiting on and doing everything else made us feel very welcome. Considering the age of the building it 's all very clean and well laid out. Given the use of the lounge as we had many children was a a bonus for us, and the other diners. Food was fantastic. Best fish and chips I 've had. A very welcoming place and will be sure to return."

"Out here two nights as it was next to our b b b. read some of the reviews and hoped that the “rude” bar staff mentioned, love a good argument. Unfortunately, she has to be moved on, the replacement was very helpful with an evil sense of humor. did not get names as they were so busy, but the servers were also very friendly and helpful. the eating was a good standard-sub-grub except andys Gammon-Steak, it was the most tasty he ever had. local meat from a local metzger says everything."

"FOOD!! We had Steak pie and mash, minted lamb shank and chips , burger and chips. We were served quickly and the food was amazing! Portions were big! The lamb shank was delicious and the leeks in cheese sauce were a lovely surprise and tasty addition! The chips were really good.. really crispy! We really enjoyed everything!"

"Beautiful restaurant, with a warm welcome on a rainy day! we all had the lunch menu, starter: prunky cocktail, suppe of the day (sweet) with a warm roll that enchanted the freche garlauchbrot, went down a tasty bite. for our head we decided to beef with yorkshire pudding. no mistake, everything was well presented and the personal offered a friendly service. we would recommend if they were looking for home comfort warm atmosphere. we're coming back, thanks!"
