"We were staying at the motel; Citrus Valley Motel, so ate there in the restaurant. The space used by Ashely's is large and relatively uninviting with a small bar at one end of the space where a waitress served drinks in between serving meals. It has a large and fancy menu. One old time entree, Fried Camembert was listed, but it is now very popular in England as a trip there in May showed us. Pumpkin soup for entree had a wonderful flavour but was way to thick, more like a astew. I had salt and pepper squid as a main which was cooked to perfection but cam with a vast quantity of salad which rather spoiled the squid as did the lack of a hint of .szechuan pepper. I had ordered salad to accompany the main but the waitress did not tell me how much of the main was salad, most annoying. The chips served with the squid were crispy and well cooked. Service left something to be desired with waitresses leaning over the table to place cutlery and food on the table and removing plates before all had finished, but I guess it is a country restaurant!Ashley's was packed with locals who obviously were enjoying the food and wine, so may be I expect too much. Wine list average to small and prices moderate.Over all a good feed but the pretensions of the palce leave me feeling it is a wanna-be eating place."

"We had purchased a coffee at the cafe and queried Vegan options. The Female Staff member suggested to check with their sister restaurant nextdoor, so we braved the cold to check it out, whilst coffees were made for us. Upon arrival we saw the Pizza Cafe was not open for lunch yet, but looking through the window a lovely lady saw us and opened the door. She answered our questions, checked with the chef and even offered for us to come in early to sit and have a coffee while choosing something that could be adapted. We were very impressed. Best customer service in Renmark that day and the business is very accommodating to individual dietary requirements. By the way the coffee was pretty good at the cafe on the riverfront too."

"The meal was delightful, the service was fantastic, the $80 platter we had felt quite expensive when we saw what came on it, the wine tasting was OK, but it would be significantly improved if there was an explanation given as to the wines, or...as with most wine tastings we’ve done, paper explaining the bouquet and flavors and meaning behind each wine. It was lovely to sit outside with the dogs, and even though it was raining and windy, we were well protected under cover."

"Wonderful venue with rose garden to enjoy. Lovely staff, friendly and welcoming. For Sunday lunch we had beautifully prepared meals of lamb chops with pumpkin and red wine gravy. Delicious. A memorable visit. Thank-you."
