"This place is great. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, and while the servers can sometimes seem overwhelmed, the service is generally good.<br/>We usually order a meat thali (a meal combo), which has fantastic value. It's about 20$ for 3 dishes of curry, a naan, a samosa, a drink, and a dessert. We usually split it between the two of us and still have some leftovers.<br/>It starts out with a big samosa covered in chickpea curry and mango chutney. The samosa is hot, crispy, and flavourful, and the chickpea curry is also very tasty. All the dishes are also very good; the thali comes with lamb curry, chicken curry, and butter chicken. All are delicious, but the lamb curry is my favourite (I even like the butter chicken, even though I'm usually not a fan). You get a fair portion of each dish, and all of them are flavourful, with high-quality meat and an appropriate level of spice (we usually get a level 2 or 3). The naans are soft and fresh, and the rice pudding you get for dessert is very nice too! You even get a beer included with the meal (which I sub out for an awesome mango lassi since I don't like beer).<br/>Whenever we go there we get a great meal at a very nice price, in a lovely little restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. I basically have only good things to say about Jolly's, and if it were closer to my place I would go there all the time! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice Indian restaurant."

"Found just off King George Hwy in not the most exotic of locations adjacent to Avis Rent a Car, The Carvery is an 11 to 4 kind of place, serving pretty good lunches to folks who know where to find them! On the weekends, they do porchetta and brisket, so I chose the Porchetta Sandwich with a bowl of Cream of Broccoli and Cheddar.The bread was very good (filone being nicely chewy. The pork itself was not bad but when I think porchetta, my mind travels to Meat And Bread in Vancouver and this one did not quite measure up to that standard nor did it have the wonderful cracklings. In fairness, The Carvery is not going the same route and the sandwich has very nice greens, tasty chimichuri and paprika aioli. The soup was wonderful and rich. On another visit, I ordered off their regular menu which has a lot of tempting combinations and classics to offer. A Cubano! I am not an expert but this was a revelation! Roasted mojo (garlic, cumin, oregano and citrus pork shoulder and smoked ham, with Swiss, pickles and mustard on Cuban loaf, brought me close to tears! Put this on your bucket list! Finally, I got a Lambwich Panini to go. This was also a great pleasure with roasted pulled lamb shoulder, chimichuri, sunny fetta spread (not quite sure but feta? and greens on ciabatta. Nice! Check out their menu but remember that they have daily specials. Taco Tuesday? And there was a Ham, Macaroni and Cheese Sandwich special when I dropped in.Definitely worth the effort to find!"

"My wife I recently spent a weekend in the city exploring with our bikes. Found this place east of, just past, gastown. Decided to sit and sip a few wines, ordered a cheese plate, sat in nice comfortable chairs, talked. What a pleasant unexpected turn to our day. Quite romantic. We started with a flight of wine. Very cool idea. Never seen this offered before. All in all service was top notch, friendly and knowledgable."

"Panos is located on Marine Drive near the bottom of Fraser St. Their lamb shank is very tender and flavourful. The guy that owns the restaurant is always there and servers are nice. He brings in a lot of his friends, making it feel like a real neighbourhood restaurant. Highly recommended for any occasion."

"Hey guys! On a gorgeous Wednesday, Team Tastic was feeling adventurous. We landed at the intersection of Kingsway and Main, did a quick “Nearby” search on Urbanspoon and landed at Italia Bella Bar and Grill . Serving a variety of Western, Italian, and British food, was this worth the spontaneity or should you plan your outings more carefully on Kingsway? Read on to find out. Food: I got a good taste of the Calamari , Turkey Dinner with Gravy , and the Eggs Benny . The Calamari came out first and boy did it look good. Sometimes calamari can come out dripping with oil at Greek restaurants but here it was light on the frying and big on the flavour. The chili sauce was an interesting spin on the usual tzatziki sauce but I’m okay with spice. Calamari Afterwards came the Eggs Benny. Decorated with scalloped potatoes and smoked ham, this was a pretty average benny. The hollandaise sauce did its job of smothering down the runny egg but compared to say The Flying Pig , it might be best to leave the bennies for an actual brunch spot. Eggs Benny The Turkey Dinner was a winner here . Deemed a holiday entree, the turkey was smothered in steaming gravy that wasn’t too salty. There was plenty of gravy to go around for the mashed potato and the meat was quite tender. You never know how branching out of a traditional cuisine will go but the Turkey Dinner was a great idea gone well. Now we don’t have to go all the way to Harrison Mills for a Turkey Dinner ! Turkey Dinner Features: This is a medium sized restaurant that can hold about 60 guests. When we entered the bar area was closed but you can still order a drink from the menu. The washrooms were pretty good here; there was no liquid on the floor of the menu’s washroom which is a good sign. Inside Italia Bella Bar and Grill Service: Service was very kind here. The staff thought Team Tastic wanted its dishes one after another when we actually wanted our entrees at the same time but once we clarified they apologized and got right"
