"We stayed here for five nights and ate in the hotel restaurant for three of them. We loved the elegant table settings, the charming service and, of course, the excellent food. Do try the fillet de boef - perfectly cooked, well seasoned and with lovely accompaniments. When I read a couple of negative reviews I had to check that we were talking about the same place! Contrary to one review I think the food here is much better than the Lastiry opposite."

"We were in Sare for three days and ate dinner at Restaurant Lastiry twice. The atmosphere is lovely. Our waitress, Sandra, was very attentive but not overbearing. She also has a great sense of humor with her outgoing personality. Between the two nights we thoroughly enjoyed the following: lamb shank cooked in Basque beer, ground veal with mashed potatoes, salmon with hollandaise sauce, and dessert of poached pear and the regional wines. I particularly enjoyed the lamb shank! Highest rating and worth a drive if near Sare."

"We came to lunch and fell under the charm of this house in the countryside. everything here breathes the elegance and intimacy of the English style, the garden, the decoration. no card but a menu with each dish a call to greed, with a perfection of tastes and cooking. A very nice address or we will return for a we, booking one of the rooms this time, to prolong the charm."
