"I would have given it zero stars but Trip Advisor won’t let me! We have been here before, was never great but kids liked it. This time it was a disaster. We ordered starters that arrived an hour apart. No explanation. No apology. Another...hour passed and still no food. A quiet word with the manager (in French who raced off to find our meals. Half an hour later they turned up despite being told they were coming in minutes. The toilets were filthy and there were bits of masonry on the floor. The places literally falling apart. Go anywhere in Annecy but here even McDonalds."

"We ordered four dishes. We did not eat to of them at all, and one another was just bad. When we tried to talk to the waitress and the cook, they argued that the problem is with us. Both were rude and refused to reduse even one dish from the account. Only after we said we would write a review in TripAdvisor they fixed the billThe truth is that this terrible experience justifies only one star, but to be fair we gave another star due to the repair bill"

"I went to this restaurant last week with a friend who was visiting, as I'd been before and remembered the food being quite good for the price that you pay. However, after my most recent experience, Rive Gauche now finds itself at the bottom of the pile. It was lunch time, we got seated and ordered our drinks. I was chatting with my friend when the waitress came to take our order, so we asked for a couple more minutes. We carried on our conversation, now and then looking to see if we could catch the waitress to give her our order as it had been quite a while. Before we know it, another waitress announces that it's 14.05 and therefore too late, the kitchen has closed. She heads off to check and then comes back to tell us that we can have a salad and if that was okay, er, no not really but it would seem we had little choice. So, we ordered salads. Mine was loads of lettuce thrown in a bowl with the cheapest of goats cheese on the cheapest of toasts, job done. That’ll be €15, please! My friend’s salad niçoise wasn’t much better. Then, whilst chatting, the waitress came again and plonked the bill down and asked that we pay as they were closing. I have been living in Annecy for a number of years now and I’m tired of the dismissiveness, lack of service and mediocre food that the restaurants in Annecy provide. The French pride themselves on their cuisine and politeness but as far as I can see, that all seems to go out the window when they know they can make easy money."
