"We were going to a movie at E Street Cinema, and chose Harriet's for dinner because it is so close to the Cinema and is reasonably priced. Were expecting average food, but were pleasantly surprised. The vegetarian lasagna we had was the best I've had in my life. It had an unusual lightness to it, and was scrumptious. Serving was huge. Note that Harriet's shares a kitchen with Harry's, the other restaurant of Hotel Harrington. While the menus are very similar, Harriet's has additional items, including vegetarian items which are not on Harry's menu."

"I preface this by saying this is a great place for the variety of ingredients and wine selections. I have been visiting this place for almost 20 years, and still think on the many times I have left with the greatest experiences with their various subs and salads. Today, however, I am left with utter disappointment. After bragging to a coworker about their tuna salad, and then driving across the city to introduce their deli experience to them. We both are staring at each other as to why. This 12 ' bread sandwich (the only way to describe) is void of tuna, lettuce, tomato, and flavor. This experience is somewhat heart breaking because the staff is great, the variety is superb, but you can tell they are worrying about rationing their food portions ala subway subs. I will give them another try because of the many years, but I am truly disheartened by what it seems this great establishment maybe headed towards. Please support, but do NOT get their Tuna sub! HA!"

"We dined in as a family, got the antipasta appetizer. Literally all the food was great!!! Better then nearly all italian restaurants I have tried on the east coast.There fresh pizza sauce stands out above most!"

"U will wait... but its oh so worth the wait can't rush creativity Yelpers!!!! Now Omg the best sandwiches I have ever eaten that I don't have to make myself!!! She nailed my BLT like she was roman and it was Jesus Christ himself on the cross!!!! It was so good we got another!!!!! We were so impressed.... But should have known!!! Mrs. Star Bonnie has the sweetest song voice and if she can sing like that then she can cook like that too!!!! After all its an expression of your love!!! Thanks for a great lunch today And as a plus: They had lasagna my son swears its better than mine, but my daughter prefers my way savory n full of onions, herbs n garlic lol Please keep your mask on in here. But there is good air ventilation. On top of the excellent music. Get your Shazam app ready!!! While u wait...."

"I came solo for my birthday and at the door I was greeted with bad bedside manner and was treated as not a priority. I had to seat myself back and waited for someone to serve me but no one came and I had to grab someone's attention after 15 minutes. I saw their were others around me with what looked like complimentary bread and looking through these reviews posted just confirmed I wasn't given equal treatment. Food was not worth the price, and the ghost of servers I kept having to summon made it clear my money is better spent else where. I won't be back. (FYI The chicken Alfredo wasn't good)"

"The Works Cafe is a blast from the past. These places used to be all over DC. The first time I found it was in 2017, because of a 'tent ' sign in the lobby touting sandwich specials for cheap in the back . The owner was a Korean guy with a Latina cook. They sold out 2 years ago to another Korean guy who does it all by himself. The food is cheap and good, especially after I 'd been Fasting for a blood test from my physical upstairs!!! It 's clean and there 's great coffee on the counter and TV running all the time. A breakfast Croissant w/ham, egg, and Cheese is $4.00!! Almost too much to eat at one time. Oh, and yes, there 's several kinds of HOT SAUCES on the counter to brighten up your purchase! What a find. I 'm down there on 1/22 so hope it 's still there. The building has just been refreshed, and the owner told me he was 'staying put '. We 'll see. Check it out !!! JP"
