"We were camping with some friends in the South Downs area and booked this pub for lunch, we arrived wet and muddy from our 2 hour walk and Butser Ancient Farm tour but the staff were kind and accommodating. After our delicious lunch and drinks we asked if there was space for us in the bar area and they kindly moved us over and it was lovley, there was a warm fire and the staff catered to our every whim. After a while we moved out doors as the table was booked by other patrons, we ordered more food and drinks and it was all delicious and fresh. Safe to say we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would definitely recommend."

"Found ourselves in Rowlands Castle again so stopped by for lunch delicious gluten free chicken, leek ham pie on the specials board which we both opted for. Arrived quickly, hot and with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Didn't need a pudding though would have loved one. Discovered from their website there is 25% off on Mondays and Tuesdays (if you quote their code) so we popped over to treat ourselves. I had the steak kidney pudding with new potatoes and fresh vegetables which unfortunately was barely warm I drew this to the attention of our waitress who remedied the issue without question and a fresh meal arrived piping hot it was absolutely delicious My husband had lasagne with chips and salad garnish and thoroughly enjoyed it. Again we were both too full to try a dessert good excuse to return for a further visit."

"We stopped at Petersfield for a bite to eat around 1.55, went to The Cloisters and I asked for a menu, member of staff was so rude and said what do you want a menu for we are not doing hot food now, I was very taken aback and explained to my partner what had been said so we asked if they were doing sandwiches we were very sharply told drinks and cakes only, not what was said but HOW it was said, member of staff very rude. Had lunch at a Lovett place across the road with pink chairs, staff and food amazing, our advice avoid The Cloisters."
