"Our first visit to Bexhill and spotted Rustico restaurant on the sea front. Menu looked good so we booked a table for early dinner. And we were not disappointed. Great choice on the menu. Our food was delicious, very authentic. Chefs are apparently Italian. Service...was great, very friendly staff. Our waitress Mirgy was lovely. Definitely recommended."

"We really enjoyed eating that we spent two nights. the pizzas were very authentic and very well tasted. the weeping and the desserts were also beautiful. we also liked the atmosphere inside and it was a relaxed evening out. very cheap...to with friendly staff and large service. we will definitely come back."

"We have previously enjoyed meals here with friends and the standard has always been fairly consistent and good. Sadly, today the standard dipped noticeably. Admittedly it was busy, but we had prebooked well in advance. There was confusion about our booking when we arrived which carrried through when different staff served us. Two of the main courses were not particularly hot when they arrived and the fish very salty and dry. We were kept waiting a very long time between the main course and order being taken for pudding which was mediocre and pretty tasteless. Dogs are admitted with their owners, but this can be intrusive and unwelcome for other customers when they dogs yapping and/or sniffing round other people's tables. I don't think we will be returning in a hurry."

"As a family we have eaten out on Christmas Day for many years and have varied levels of success. Being frequent customers here we managed to make a booking for our family Christmas lunch and we’re delighted.This is a proper, traditional pub where you are welcomed by the landlord and a warm fire. I avoid the modern ‘plastic’ Christmas vibe of piped Muzak, strict timings for sittings and mass catering. The Black Horse was a breath of fresh air. We were unhurried but thoughtfully attended to without having to get out to allow for the next sitting.Our meals were all faultless and fresh. We had between the Traditional turkey, a risotto which was generous with the lobster and I had the vegetarian roast. The starters of Gravelax and Soufflé were all fresh and delicious.Considering the whole dining and bar areas were full we were delighted with the whole experience and highly we recommended it to friends."
