"La Caldera sits on the main street of Santa Lucia, just a short walk from the parking lots that most visitors will use if they are driving up for a day trip. It stays busy, but I was disappointed in both the food and the service. The menu is eclectic: a bit of rabbit here, a little goat there, steak, lasagne, fish croquettes... sort of a themeless attempt to cover all bases. That should have been my first warning; I went for the goat, which turned out to be full of fat and gristle not exactly the tasty morsels I had imagined. I also ordered iced tea and got a can of fruity flavored liquid that wasn 't what I had imagined, either. None of this seemed to concern the staff; customers here are almost a captive market , because few tourists will see anywhere else nearby to eat. That may bring them in once, but if they are like me, they won 't come back."

"We had dinner in here a few days ago and to be honest we weren't very impressed. I had the lamb shoulder which was as tough as old boots, it should be tender and fall off the bone, this certainly didn't do that. My partner had a fish casserole which she said was ok, nothing special. To be fair though, the service is pretty good, the staff are friendly and polite but For a meal that came to almost 50 euros, we expected more, disappointing."
