"I came here for my birthday dinner a few weeks ago and ordered the salsiccia e porcini pizza. It was nice but just lacking a bit of salt I felt. I had the tiramisu for dessert. If you're not a coffee fan, I wouldn't recommend because it has a very strong coffee flavour but I did enjoy it. I'd recommend booking as it does get quite packed."

"Went there a while ago. Had the carpaccio, the ragu and panna cotta. Carpaccio was nice and light. Papadelle was proper all dente (what you want in pasta) but not much duck in the ragu. The panna cotta with the chocolate syrup was probably the best even tho the syrup made it a bit on the sweet side. Overall I enjoyed my evening there and since most, probably not all, of the pasta is freshly made, which should be commended."

"Nestled above Porteno and run by the same crew, Gardels Bar – named after tango king Carlos Gardel – is a grown up bar. Sophisticated, moody and dimly lit, it is about more than just the looks, being a bar that also serves some clever food, earning it Best Bar For Good Food in this year’s Good Food Guide Awards. There is some great house made charcuterie on offer, among other things. The Cool Chicks opt for one of the “bar banquet ” menus, by the end of which we are totally stuffed. But of course we also want some drinks to go with it, and at on a Saturday night, they have “run out of glasses”. Say again? “ummm, yes, your drinks will be here as soon as we clean...read more"

"The ribs were delicious as was the burrata. However, the burger was lacking in the patty size and taste department. Overall good service and atmosphere."

"The foodstock here is quite good and varied, but the fruit and vegetables are among the high standards to say wholefoods, who have the freshest fruit and vegetables I have ever found out outside to bring them fresh!"

"As Italian as it can get<br/ <br/ We had Arancini Balls for entree and wow absolutely light and delicious. I've had this entree in the past (at other restaurants) and they've often been heavy and deeply fried. These were very light and pleasant to eat.<br/ <br/ For main we had Risotto Marinara and Spaghetti Meat Balls.<br/ Spaghetti was delicious and full of flavour. The most balls were juicy and well cooked<br/ The risotto is the usual meal I have at an Italian restaurant and so I am very picky. Often in a marinara they don't have enough seafood.... this restaurant has plenty which was great. The arborio rice was well cooked and did not contain and crunch rice. The flavour I think it did need some more salt or maybe cooked more in some of the seafood juice. It just very slightly lacked flavour.<br/ <br/ The ambiance of this restaurant is terrific and great relaxing vibe. It is great for a romantic dinner or a family dinner. It is a very laid back restaurant.<br/ <br/ The waiter we had was very professional, friendly and knew the menu well.<br/ She was able to recommend wine as we asked and explained the dish to us when we had a question.<br/ <br/ I would go back again, definitely and next time I will take our friends. It was a great experience and look forward to trying other Italian meals."
