"I went to Rasoi with my parents for lunch last week. We were originally headed to the Iselin location but Jersey City was a bit closer to us and it was getting late. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. There was 1 other party when we walked in so we were seated right away. To our dismay they only offer the lunch buffet on Friday-Sunday. The menus still say they offer the lunch buffet on other days but the staff was quick to tell us the menus are outdated. For appetizers we got fried paneer and fried okra. Both were very tasty. They came with different dipping sauces which paired well with both dishes. I ordered the chicken malai kofta and my parents shared the goat curry. It took well over 30 minutes for our entrees to come out. I remember because I had paid for an hour of parking and I was starting to worry that my time would run out. Both the entrees were cooked well and tasted great. The goat was very tender and the level of spice was perfect. The chicken malai kofta tasted great too but my only gripe is that it only came with 4 tiny meatballs. It's served in a decent-sized pot so I was a bit disappointed to find how much little meat I got. Nevertheless, the two dishes were seasoned well so even the broth(? /soup(? was good enough to eat with the included basmati rice. I would definitely come back here to try their lunch buffet. This would be a 3.5 but I'm rounding down because of the slow service. We came in around 1:30PM on a Thursday; they didn't seem too busy."

"This is the fourth Indian restaurant we tried in Jersey City’s Little India and by far the best. The Chicken Chettinand is flavorful and the garlic naan is a must have. The lunch special Thali at $14.99 is a great way to try many dishes. Nice service and atmosphere. We are Indian food foodies who lived in Jackson Heights for some time and Golonda Chimney is among the best. Authentic and a great change from the typical butter chicken."

"? FOOD [3/5]: Food was fine, not the best option if you want good Pakistani cuisine. It is served half-buffet style: you order on the front and they ship the dishes from their hot bar. The short trip to Journal Square 's Little India is worth it. The Achari chicken was good, but the other dishes we ordered (Palak shakers, chicken tikka curry, chicken carahi, Samosa) could be better, the chicken meat had more cartilage than expected. The Naan was very good! SERVICE [3/5]: The service was fine and the staff was helpful to answer questions we had. I took a few stars because they started cleaning up well before they closed and were constantly looking at our table as if we were overlaid our reception. ? VIBE [2/5]: Very simple atmosphere, food is served to not go great for aesthetics or for the environment. Unfortunately, I can't say that the taste makes up for the lack of overall eating experience."

"We?ve been going here for years and it?s second best to going all the way to india. The restaurant was renovated over covid so it?s much nicer now and the food is just as good. Egg katori is a great appetizer to start. All the dishes are worth a try to find the ones you like best. It gets busy so be aware during rush hour."
