"We were seated by an attentive waiter. The menu consisted of 2 fixed price options but with the ability to switch between the 2. We ordered beef which arrived on a cold plate, the beef was cooked as requested but was chewy and tough, there...was a large smear of puréed cauliflower (under seasoned for us) a little green veg, a large ‘chip’ and gravy type sauce. We ordered puds, lemon meringue nice, coffee/chocolate cake nice and a chocolate mousse. The latter was in a lumpy chocolate shell sprayed with a little edible gold spray. Maybe this was to distract from what it actually looked like! The mousse was placed in a jam sauce which overpowered the delicate flavour of the mousse. Really disappointed with our meal in view of the good reviews but for for us all, not a place to return to."
