"Love the foods there! They aren't many Malaysian foods around, so Paparich is my go-to place to soothe my cravings for Malaysian foods. 9 out of 10 times I'd order Wah Tan Hor (wish they'd bring back the broad noodles for this dish instead of the skinny one, big texture difference , then Hokkien Mee for takeout. Must be a memory thing. : Wish there's another Paparich near where we live!"

"I like this place better than some of the cajun boil places. It's served in a bowl instead of a plastic bag and it's so big you have to go with friends or family. The butter garlic sauce is better than other places I've been to. My only complaint was the Chinese vegetable dish. It was cooked iceberg lettuce with oyster sauce for like $13. That was bad we all looked at it and no on liked it. Just about any other Chinese vegetable would have been better. But otherwise, everything else was good."

"Maxi is exactly what is needed! A small charming spot that specializes in doing one thing very well. It?s important to preserve and support HK and Cantonese culture. A world without HK/Cantonese food will be sad. The wontons are shrimp and pork . Maxi doesnot skimp on the shrimp at all! Most places skimp because shrimp is more costly. Some of the best wontons I ever had. Pro moveis to add a little vinegar and chilli sauce to the wontons. The broth is perfect and I confirmed with Maxi she does take thetime to use shrimp peels to bring out that seafood/umami flavor. No shortcuts here. I am pretty familiar with the Chinese foodscenes in SF and San Gabriel Valley (LA). Maxi?s is the best I ever had. The one contender would be the now gone Noodle Boy inRosemead (SGV). This is one of my favorite places. Very homey and very Hong Kong."
