"This was a very interesting night! We had a group of of which who had been to Korean BBQ many times before so we knew what to expect. These expectations were left very disappointed initially. First it took minutes to get platter of meat which was supposed to come with quality sides lettuce leaves to make wraps from. When our meat platter finally came it was of the size we expected and have received at many other places. We had finished all of the meat and had received tiny bowls of side some tofu and broccoli only The remaining sides and lettuce leaves didn't come at all. Our exhaust fan did not work either so the entire restaurant got smoked out and the alarm started going off. We were pretty annoyed and still starving also so I went and spoke with the owner. He was a great guy. He set us up at a new table and we received another meat platter and sides complimentary. He ended up giving us some complimentary glasses to go with the korean wine we ordered also bottles) and took a photo with us. He was really lovely and said next time come back and he will make us a special meal it is exactly would should be done when such a poor experience is had. I would have rated out of altogether in the end before they really did go above and beyond to make up for the problems coming over to check on us, sending a waiter over to cut our wagyu beef steaks for us and the lovely gift, but I just can't get past the size of the meat platters. The chicken portion should be double what they provided and the sides were really tiny. The broccoli and tofo portion should be at least triple what is was and I can't even remember what the others were which isn't saying much. With a tiny bit more effort but not a lot more cost for the owner (I understand all too well the cost of an establishment on the gold coast is high), the perceived value received would be far higher so customers will walk about happier and more satisfied."

"A sunny Thursday in August, a large-ish group of good friends, an excuse to go shopping - and wonderful seafood for lunch! What could be better? I'm glad I'd checked our booking earlier in the morning, because it had got lost somehow - do ring ahead if you know you're coming with a group, because this place is busy. I like to book a couple of days ahead, then confirm numbers in the morning of that day. We rocked up around noon, to see what was best/fresh that morning, then huddled for some time as we discussed our options. After a short wait, spent chatting and people watching, lunch arrived!King prawns and salad: wow! Lovely fresh garden salad, bright colours, juicy large prawns (she chose 5), and everyone was jealous. Well, until the calamari and Greek salad, and calamari and chips came out! Conversation stopped and serious munching began...Then the classic grilled dory and chips, and battered dory and chips came out, with Greek side salads. We never get tired of this wonderful combination - sometimes we'll get it as take-away lunch at work. There is one (small) complaint, not really serious: too many chips! Most of our diners have smaller appetites and try to eat a more balanced diet, but they hate waste - what to do with all those chips?? Lucky bus drivers!We also had a diner who savoured the chowder. He said it was very good, tasty, not too thick but had lots of 'bits'. He'd have liked a bread roll to have with it, but dunked chips ;)I had grilled salmon (sashimi grade), made with canola oil. (It helps when staff understand allergies because family members have similar concerns! ) My perfectly cooked salmon was beautifully presented on a bed of plain lettuce; tasted superb and flaked so easily I only needed to use a fork, no knife. We finished the meal with a segment each of the new Sumo mandarins from Woolworths: they look so funny with their topknots and rough skins, but are sweet, juicy and seedless. Leoleos didn't mind that we sat for a bit chatting while others shopped; we bought some drinks while we waited. Lunch probably cost around $11pp when you average it out; a very good day."
