"The cashier was, hands down, one of the nicest I have encountered. The rest of the workers were dressed in dirty clothes, a young girl came into the store (not working that shift) and walked right back into the cooking area without hesitation. She then hugged several people behind the counter. *any health code violations there?? They were out of the item I wanted but we all found some sort of ice cream. It was made quickly and sent out. The apparent? Manager on duty was trying to clean up and appeared stressed, but then was nice when giving out our order. We left immediately when we realized the lobby was closing but there was a large, newly graduated group still eating and talking. I'm not sure I would eat there...but the ice cream was good."

"Macado's bills itself as a neighborhood bar. It plays out more like a twist on Applebee's or O'Charley's. We were trying to decide which building it used to be. The decor has been changed so that almost every bit of wall space is covered with quaint photos and Liberty University memorabilia. Jade welcomed us brightly and seated us, taking our drink orders right away. That's a nice service touch. The fare is mainly sandwiches and burgers, with a section of wraps and appetizers. It's mostly bar food oriented food. The portions are huge, too, so consider sharing. Two of us ordered burgers, which were big and tasty. We had the chips and onion rings. The onion rings were excellent. Good, flavorful onions and a crispy batter. The Reuben sandwich was reported to be a little flat in taste, but was helped tremendously by the horseradish aoli, which was requested on the side. I had the Irish Nachos. This was a gigantic serving of nachos--chili, lettuce, black olives, cheese sauce, and jalapenos--but served on a bed of the chips. They did not seem to hold up as well as tortilla chips might have, and were overall a little bland. The chili was not spicy. On the whole, all the dishes seemed to favor portion extravagance over flavor. It didn't taste bad, but it did nothing to distinguish itself from any other place that might offer the same things. There's a long list of sandwiches with enough variety to satisfy any group or party. They have Coke products, and a full bar which we did not sample from this visit. Macado's deserves a couple more visits to sample a few sandwiches."

"Just moved into the 'hood and looking for takeout the night before Turkey Day. Read some of the reviews--typically all over the map. Solid Japanese/Chinese takeout. The Bento Box (shrimp) was outstanding. My wife ordered the crispy crab claws. Not sure why, but I thought I 'd be doing the cracking thing ala lobster like where we 're from in New England. Instead, crab meat was removed from the claw, breaded, and deep fried. Excellent! The Yummy Sauce is indeed, yummy! The Jumbo Shrimp Hibachi was solid, with the friend rice definitely imbued with hibachi flavoring. Portions are large, so you 'll have leftovers, for sure. Will definitely do take out at Mikada Express again."

"Welcome to phase 1! the tables were 6 feet apart, but it was my first time back on a live band and drinks. with over 200 different whiskys and bourbons on the menu, the $14 Fly Option is a great way to try different bourbons. their strength is clearly the open space and bourbons. as it came to cocktails and designs less so, with many doses of beer options. I like bourbons who loved this place so much. our waitress was a good control in a few minutes. the hostess is impressive with the balancing of a growing group of people who are thrilled to see a live band. dog-friendly and why not play a small cornhole."
