"I am not one for writing reviews but I felt on this occasion I should after giving it 3 days to sink is as if it did it right after i would of been more scathing.I visited this venue on Sunday for lunch. We arrived at 12:20pm and ordered at 12:40. We were told it would take 40 minutes and we thought that's fine we have driven up from Fremantle area and didn't have much of a choice to go elsewhere. We have 2 (aged 4 & 7) kids with us who were happy to play in their lovely grounds whilst they waited for the food. After an hour had past I thought I should check how far our food was an the wonderful waitress Bernie said if about 4 orders back. We decided to wait as we didn't have another option. When I looked around I noticed many tabled without food and although it was busy they could only serve the tables that were full it's not as if they put on more tables than they could cope with so I don't by the busy argument. Anyway after advising the waitress that we wanted our money back and would go elsewhere our food arrived. The kids fish & chips were fine, the croquettes were also tasty but the pork belly was dry and over cooked and the chicken wings were awful. What I must say is that it shouldn't take 1hr and 50 minutes to get your food. If we were anywhere else i.e Freo Leedi or the city we would of left but as we don't know the area well and had starving kids we stayed but wish we hadn't.I want to say a special thank you to Bernie the waitress who was very apologetic and doing her best to make and the other tables who were also complaining feel at ease. She was regularly checking with the kitchen but there is only so much she could do. Thank you Bernie your efforts didn't go unnoticed but I feel the manager went missing. She should of been the one going around the tables and not you. I could see there were at least 5 tables complaining about how long it took. I certainly wont visit Oakover Grounds again."

"Had been driving past this restaurant for awhile and thought we would give it a try, had heard some reports that the food was good, it's not in a very attractive location but is quite nice once you are inside, I thought the welcome was a bit off handed but we were indicated where we could sit, the food I must say was very good and we all enjoyed our selection and the service was prompt and pleasant, would probably return but would not recommend it for a special occasion but good for a mid week meal."
