"We have not been to Horizons for a number of years but decided that it would make a nice evening out. After we made reservations, friends of ours called and wanted to get together for dinner. When we mentioned that we had reservations at Horizons they were very receptive to the idea so we changed our table for 2 to a table for 6. We were given a lovely table right by the window and had a beautiful view of Vancouver. One of our friends remembered our waiter from previous visits and said he had been there a number of years. Our waiter was Peter and he was terrific. He has a great sense of humour and took exceptionally good care of us. It was nice to be able to banter with Peter during dinner. He was always available but he did not hover it's a very fine line and he has it figured out very well. Thank you Peter. My husband and I shared an order of escargot with mushrooms. They were done a bit differently than the usual as it did not come in a little ramekin but it was loosely arranged on a plate. It was good nonetheless. 2 of our friends had a salad for a starter. For entrees 3 had one of the daily specials trout with prawns and 3 had New York strip loin. All the entrees arrived at the same time and all were cooked exactly as ordered. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dinners. For dessert my husband and I shared a black current mousse bomb with white chocolate. It was a lovely dessert, light and refreshing and a great way to cap a great meal. It was a lovely way to spend a nice evening with friends. Good food, good friends, great service and a beautiful setting. We won't stay away so long next time."
