"If you enjoy fresh and crispy fish & chips PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. The title of this review is no exaggeration. This "seafood restaurant" does not even deserve one star - our experience was so horrible. We ordered two takeaway combos, one grilled and one battered and they were both revolting. Everything was soggy and plain, the salad was dead, nothing was fresh. Such a disappointing meal. In Adelaide, where good food and wine is the reason many tourists visit, restaurants simply cannot afford to serve meals like this. Then to add insult to injury, the service was very poor - we were made to feel awkward while waiting, as though we shouldn't be ordering takeaway fish & chips from a fish & chips restaurant. Very disappointed we wasted one of our meals out in Adelaide here and will advise everyone we know against going."

"Stonegrill experience in cbd in adelaide! reef and bark with garnels ordered. also a lobster dick added above. the seafood was so fresh and tasty. for the bark they had to cook themselves. the taste of the meat was fair, but the experience was good. the staff was friendly and patient to teach them how to cook the bark!"

"Order good coffee (or use the machines when they are stubborn) and good value for a large selection of cut fresh fruits, delicious birchermuesli and so on. hot dishes are available in the ham maries to help yourself and the discarded egg is surprisingly not... overcooked and creamy for it. yummy crispy speck, sweet little tasty sausage, delicious little tomato, crispy kartoffel cake and a selection of brot to taste yourself, three types of juice. the best heavenly jam plus jam, jam and vegemite. excellent and other decisions if they want it."

"This was our first visit to the German Club. It was very busy due to being a Fringe Venue but service was fast and friendly with staff doing their best. Due to the Fringe, a limited menu was on offer which we expected so we...ordered a chicken schnitzel and a pork schnitzel. (we went halves on each) They arrived very quickly but I would have to say that these were 2 of the blandest schnitzels I have ever had. The accompanying potato salad was very average. Poor value at $25 each. Later we attended a Fringe Event upstairs. This was spoiled in part by Bar Staff and Patrons yelling to each other which was quite unnecessary and interfered with a Q&A session being held on stage with Glen Shorrock and 2 of his previous co-performers. Audience members (male and female) approached the bar staff on more than one occasion asking for some quiet which was met with looks of astonishment and shoulder shrugs. Doubt we will be back."

"Couldn't have been happier with the food or the service. The waiters were all delightful and delivered excellent, old fashioned class to their service. Meals were excellent and portion sizes were great. Only problem was no room left for dessert! A good wine menu of Old and New world vintages as well."

"5 star food and service experience! I started with some fresh bread which had clearly been baked that day and was delicious. For entree I had a classic seafood cocktail. The waitress explained that the chef's was inspired by the 80's with this dish. Well, I remember it from the 70's and it consisted of many tiny prawns arranged around the edge of a stainless steel bowl filled with shredded iceberg lettuce and served with a delicious cocktail sauce. The only difference with the Mayflower's version was that they were large, plump prawns and there was only three of them. It was delicious but over fairly quickly. <br>

For mains I ordered the ricotta gnocchi with peas, fava beans, goats' curd and pea tendrils. This was a delicious meal. The flavours were gentle and the gnocchi was light - nothing like the heavier potato version. <br>

Unable to squeeze in dessert I sipped on some wine before heading off very satisfied."

"We came here with our niece for an evening meal. It was a Monday, so not partocularly full. The menu is typically pointed at westerners, and the range on offer included most of the things we expected to find. And the meals were certainly tasty...and well presented perhaps some portions could have been a bit more generous, whilst other seemed a bit loo large. But maybe Austrailian portion expectations are different to thos of Europeans. But the peculiar thing is that the waiting staff, consisted of one chirpy and friendly young lady, whereas her seemingly senior companion was really morose, unsmiling, and seemed to resent customers being there. How odd we thought, that a business in the hospitality industry should have a key front of house staff member who seems quite unsuited to the business. That apart, we enjoyed our meal, the prices were just a little high of fair, and the service was prompt"
