"Three of us arrived on a cold December Saturday, deposited my car with the pleasant valet. We were a few minutes early for brunch and were seated immediately on the very nice “porch” by charming receptionist. And served with water promptly, as our lovely server, Shannon, appeared. Jim had a Manhattan, I an Old Fashioned and Ruth a glass of Chardonnay-all three drinks were perfectly made and served. Bread quickly arrived, wrapped in a bistro-checked cloth, and good. I ordered the lobster, avocado salad and the others ordered Rocco’s burgers on my suggestion.. Ten days earlier one luncheon companion had said this lobster salad was the best salad she could remember. Yesterday, however, I was a little disappointed to find the plentiful lobster meat too firm and not very tasty. Both burgers were enthusiastically received, done perfectly medium rare, large patties covered with thin slice of cheese, just the right stuff on the fresh toasted buns. Very good fries. All in all, another pleasant meal experience at Rocco’s. It was too chilly for the tented enclosures with fire pits yesterday. I like sitting there, also, although you have road traffic noise."

"That was our second time after barnwood. it was an absolute pleasure to both paint. our meals were delicious and the service is great. the personal is very warm and lets them feel very comfortable. this restaurant has become a place where we are happy to eat."

"This is an amazing place, went for dinner with family on my younger daughter's 20th birthday. Service from beginning to end was excellent plus valet parking. Let's talk about food it was amazing everything we ordered was great. So you guys might wonder why not five stars well place is upscale as advertised however when you ask for water they bring you in plastic glasses yes plastic that was not cool. I couldn't resist and I asked the server his response was that we are worried about breakage and don't really have the room to store ? so there you have it my reason for four stars. I will however say that you should visit they have done excellent job."

"If you’ve never had good Italian food you may possibly like it here. The pizza is one level above dominos, the owner is a rude and disrespectful little guy and the waitstaff is unprofessional and rushes you to finish and leave. The atmosphere is old and outdated. The espresso drinks ordered were the worst I’ve had at any restaurant. The owner is not Italian as he would like you to believe. "Pros: excellent quality food. Many gluten-free and vegan choices made fresh and good. Our carnivores were also happy. Beautiful surroundings. Very good service of waiters who help her. Cons: Not good for large groups. Groups above 14 will limit me so that we could not invite everyone we wanted. It surprises me that large group would get less service. Nothing less, they treated our group of 13 fine. I would not recommend for a group that is great as we were in the middle of the room and it was difficult to hear conversations. We will definitely return and recommend for dinner from 2 to 5 persons, the quality, healthy food or food allergies or special diet."

"Best non yuppie/elitist bar in Newtown is a come as you are bar that is great to cool under the umbrella again on beautiful days with good service, superior food, huge menu and always ice-cold brews.
