"We picked the Beechwood for our wedding anniversary meal and were not disappointed with the whole experience. From getting there to leaving nothing could be faulted. The food was uniformly excellent, and service was too. We had the three course menu, and had their special of Pheasant breast for main course, which was delicious. We will be back."

"Well this place is called No. 1 for a reason in my opinion. The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious and plentiful. We especially liked the fish chips and the crab sandwich. Lovely location overlooking the bay. A very busy place at peak times so there is likely to be a wait unless pre-booked. I would be happy to eat here again and would highly recommend it"

"Overpriced, dirty cramped room. When we walked into our room the first impression was that it smelt of damp. On closer inspection it was due to the lack of humidistat in the bathroom and no air flow. The dark walls were covered with water staining...where condensation had dripped down them over time and the skirting boards were covered with black mould. The shower leaked and the room was unclean (except for the bedding and towels There were cob webs behind the sink pedestal and excess dust on the windowsill. When I raised these issues, the cleaner did come back to reclean the room but by then the place had lost its charm. Good breakfast."

"Excellent eating. fantastic. prebook for lunch after a steak observation and home along the coast. sitting in the marquee at the back of the pub, our youngs said it was the first thing we said. that's the first class! the starters were ordered immediately and delivered immediately. the children loved the cheese souffle, with others start equally well. the midday menu nets were well proportional, with thoughts in a suitable wein pairing suggestion. some local ales are also recommended."
