"We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Gill in Rouen. We were told that this was the best French restaurant in town and I could see why. We were awestruck when we first walked in the place which had an amazingly aesthetic elegant look to it. We arrived to an empty restaurant which filled quickly. The best part of our dining experience was easily the 2015 Meursault Vin Blanc half bottle. It was crisp, clean, fresh, and delicious tasting. It was so good we ordered a 2nd half bottle ! We ordered the 4 plate appetizer for us both. It was lovely and featured the fois gras, eel, crab, and lobster. We next ordered the sea bass and pigeon entrees and then finishing with the recommended dessert vanilla pastry. I found the pigeon to be easily the most tasty item tried which was nicely complemented by a glass of Volcae Rhone blend red wine. Overall, this was a lovely dining experience highlighted by an amazing white wine and pigeon entree. The appetizers seemed to lack a bit for me which in the end prevents this place from receiving a TA 5 rating."

"We love mussels dishes with lots of fries, so we were in our element at Le Rocher. My wife was thrilled that, in addition to the usual varieties (beer, curry, etc.), Le Rocher has varieties using the popular local cheeses in the broth - Camembert and Roquefort. So she ordered the Roquefort, and loved it so much that we had to go back a second time.The four star rating is because the mayonnaise to go with the frites was from a package. If you wanted ketchup or mustard, also from a package. And once you squirted them out, if you didn't want to drizzle them over your frites (not my favorite thing), you had to hollow out a piece of bread to serve as your dipping bowl.The frites were of the string variety - not crisp, but good. And I have to give a shout out to their waitress - I forget her name, but she was Moroccan (a university student who would have rather been in Paris hanging out in clubs), and super-friendly and we loved chatting with her."

"Derrière des noms de plat pompeux, des manières et un cadre très bourgeois, le niveau de cuisine est à la limite celui d'une brasserie: à part la purée de topinambour et le sorbet de banane, le reste ne valait vraiment pas le déplacement et surtout le prix! Les ravioles très peu farcies avec du foi gras qui ne semblait être de la viande de porc tout ceci dans un bouillon de poulet dit 'Japonisant'. Non, pour moi les ravioles sont italiennes et gourmandes, pas du tout le cas ici. et tout le reste très cher et médiocre!!Mettez votre argent ailleurs."
