"Phillip 's BBQ...Finger Lickin ' Good. There are so many different styles of BBQ....Memphis, Kansas City, North Carolina, Texas, etc. so sometimes it can be like comparing an apple with an orange, but of all the BBQ places in LA, Phillips in Leimert Park has been the best so far. However, I 'm due to go to Bludso 's in April. (The best BBQ I have eaten so far was in a little town called Metter, Georgia about an hour west of Savannah on the way to Atlanta. Lean, but juicy 'dry rubbed ' meat with little fat that had a moist, smoky, deep porky taste as well as having ample meat on the rib. I still dream of a way to get back to Georgia. Because the line can get pretty long at Phillip 's, it may be best to call ahead, and when they say spicy, it is very piquante. You can see whole dried red chilie peppers stuck in the BBQ sauce. Take Out Only!!!!"

"We chose this restaurant to dine at prior to going to the Pantages. I love that it is right across the street so you only have to park once. Our waitress was fantastic, prompt, friendly, and on top of things. My friend and I ordered four vegetarian salad/side dishes to share and we had more than enough to eat. Despite my thinking burrata cheese is bland, the burrata toast here had enough other goodies that gave the dish plenty of flavor and zip. Beet salad was fabulous as were the brussel sprouts. The mac (shells) and cheese was very good, though quite rich."

"Exceptional Mediterranean-influenced meals. We enjoy the roasted veggies and pita sharing plate and the pistachio chocolate dessert cake every time. My pork chop was delicious although my husband felt his chicken breast was a bit dry. Overall from our various visits we’re happy with our meals at Plateia."

"I was super-starving while at my boyfriend's house, who was dead asleep with not a darn thing to eat, so I had to happily fend for myself. I don't need a ton of food to fill me up. I chose this place because it was super close and I had a hankering for some good ole fried chicken. The service was nice, atmosphere decent, not too crowded, and the dine-in guests were sane that day. This is a major thing for the likes of Hollywood. Overall, I think I'll return again to do a repeat of chicken a la carte; they just had to toss in two biscuits..."
