"Stopped for takeout yesterday in New Rochelle at Jolo's man that was a mistake. They had a very limited selection so I ordered a 2x plate which was about the size of a takeout sandwich box. I got mac and cheese and portabella mushrooms. The mushrooms had no taste at all and the mac and cheese tasted like flour with a hint of nutritional yeast. I made a stop about 15 minutes later and threw it out. I also ordered two patties a lentil and a spinach patty. The breading on the patty tasted doughy and was pretty gross. The lentil was a mush of barely flavored lentils, that also was half eaten and thrown out. The spinach patty had the same horrible crust, but the filling was actually pretty good. I ordered a small plate and two patties and it came out to $17 and change. I threw out half a patty and three quarters of the plate and ate the insides of the other patty and threw the rest out. I do not remember the last time I threw food out, but not a chance in the world I would go back there."

I tried to order from a lunch menu...was told it was OLD. Why was it on the counter?2. Ordered stewed chicken (basic...should be easy, right rice peas, macaroni and cheese. It wasn't delicious. And the mac cheese was macaroni WITH cheese. Not the nice, baked melt-y deliciousness I was expecting.3. Got charged NYC tax rate in New Rochelle.The experience was not good enough for a second try."

"I tried Pepes at the end of 2020 or at the beginning of 2021 when many restaurants fought to stay open. Every time I want to treat myself, the Thai Chili Shrimp meal is the ticket! Delicious and well balanced. Customer service is pleasant and food is consistent!"

"Love their food. Never disappointed. Except this time my shrimp was fried too hard and they added some dry rice and beans to the platter under the shrimp. I could have done w/o that. It was dry, hard and undercooked. But the Mac, candied yams, BBQ chicken and shrimp was tasty."
