"Excellent, affordable food; super friendly service; and Veteran owned. This is exactly the kind of small business that deserves an additional love and support during this pandemic. I stopped here with my parents after visiting the Magnolia plantation and gardens. They ordered catfish and shrimps with crispy greens and Mac and cheese and loved every bite. I just ordered Fritten, but when the owner Kevin heard that I was vegan, he rushed back to the kitchen to see what else he could serve me. A few minutes later I had a sharp basket of delicious maize filled Hush puppies. Kevin not only refused to invite us for the hush puppies, he also gave us a 15% military discount when he saw that my father is a fellow animal. Make yourself a favor and give this place a try and send some business Kevin's way."

"The scallops were not fresh. They were fresh frozen. 75% batter and 25% overcooked miniature scallops. Owner needs to spend more time at the Dorchester Rd. Location. Why go back there when there is a brand new Grits Counter one mile away on West Montague Avenue?"

"One of the best home cooking places I've ever eaten. I was already here. please visit this place. they can not be impressed by the restaurant or atmosphere, but it is some of the best home cooking meal they will ever put in the mouth. this place has long been in the possession of the family, all I want to say is just stop here and bring them a fried chicken and a few of this maisbrot, which is some of the best I have ever put in my mouth."
