"Ughhh. What a fall from grace. A few years ago i joined some friends at a new bbq place on St. Denis called Diablos. The ribs were delicious, the fried chicken had a unique flavour. All the sides, from the fresh cornbread to the creamy and tangy coleslaw were delicious. My first visit was so impressive that i went back twice, bringing friends who enjoyed the food as much as i did. Then something changed. I dont know if it was sold but the place moved to the Main into a much smaller location. I was there a few weeks ago for a birthday party in the middle of summer. It was a hot day and there was no ac in the place. The space could barely accomodate our party of 35 or so and was open for business to others regardless. The staff were totally out o their element and what ensued was a total breakdown of service the likes of which I had never seen.The girls working the floor were friendly enough but they couldnt seem to get an order right and there was clearly no management present. It took about an hour to get them to ake our orders and then another hour for appetizers to arrive. When they did star to roll out th food it was piecemeal, some finishing their pates while others waited for theirs. What arrived was dried out, burnt or flavourless. The mac and cheese tasted like salted kraft dinner and the burnt ends where just that, burnt. The three members of our table who ordered them reported violent intestinal episodes later that night.Our evening began at 7:00. The main dishes did not start coming out before 10:00, and one couple at our table only got their plates at 10:30. These entrees were even more dissapointing than the apps. My pork ribs were charred and burnt almost to the point of being inedible. The night was hot, but the company was great so we were able to tough it out. But the service was so inept and slow that we were all agitated to the point of wanting to leave. If the food had been half decent it would have mitigated all this but the only thing more unpallatable than the slack-jawed unattentive waitresses was the slop the kitchen tried to pass off as food.It's been a long time since ive had so dissapointing a dining experience; from the food, to the atmosphere ( it mustve been about 45 degrees celsius in there) to the ineptitude of the service, this has got to be one of the worst restaurants in Montreal.So sad."

"My husband often goes there for business lunches and loves it, so I reserved it for his 40th Birthday supper. We were on the terrace with only 2 other tables of 2-3 people and no one in restaurant when we came in. Therefor crowds were not an issue. We were a group of 10 people. Overall None of us were happy. Service. We were all served at different times for every service. People were finished there appetizers before others were even served. Same for the dessert. It was incredibly slow throughout the whole meal. I had asked to pull down the shade repeatedly as the sun was directly in my eyes and I couldn't even see my food. Finally someone closed it but 5 minutes it was open again. We asked for the bill repeatedly and after 30 min said we'd leave if they didn't give immediately. There was 2 waiters standing at the bar and only two tables of two at this point. Food. Honestly no one was impressed. Anchovies were forgotten on one cessation salad and bacon on the other, even though they asked what we wanted on it. My husbands' filet mignon had fat and was way undercooked as he ordered well done. Mine was cooked for a med-well (as far as I could tell because I couldn't see the meat) but the ends were burnt. My children had fries which they didn't like nor eat, one who loves meat and shrimps wouldn't eat anything. Another's guests' fish was very dry. No one finished all their meal. Dessert. Really horrible. My husband had his birthday cake put in front of him without a word while one of the guests wasn't even at the table. He had time to take his time and finish before anyone else were served. The lava in the lava cake which takes 10 minutes to cook came after 20 minutes and was completely dry! Then the coffee finally came when everyone was finished dessert. I couldn't even drink my cafe latte as I was having severe stomach pains. Later that night a friend of ours had them too. Maybe the Montecarlo potato as it was the only thing we at together in common. Worst supper I have ever had!"
