"Recommended by a local, we went to this restaurant and were not disappointed. If you want toe experience the real deal, try any of the now (collocated) restaurants belonging to Los Cardones (they open them depending on day of the week and how busy...they are). Service was great, we had first row seats (came at minutes before singing started and most people arrive as the show is underway) and ordered local food. The locro (hearty thick stew) was delicious, as were the empanada de llama, the tamales, and the humita. We tried the Nanni Malbec and were not disappointed. How touristy is this place? Well it depends on who you count as tourists. Aside from two people from Uruguay, we were the only two non Argentinians. Great local food, good wine, and a spectacular (local) Peña."

"My hotel is around the corner from El Charrua on Caseros. I ate here the past four nights in a row. I tried the Ojo de Bife, the Chorizo de Bife, the Filet and the Asado de Tire. Everything was excellent. My favorite was the Chorizo de Bife. All of the staff are very good and I had great advice from Gustavo regarding the cuts of beef and the wine selection."

"As other reviewers have commented, this hotel restaurant is open on a Sunday evening and is therefore a very useful venue. Having said that, you can also eat at PM here, which is almost unheard of in the rest of Salta, and the food...is very good indeed. We were served within of an hour of ordering and the waiters were efficient and friendly. In fact we hadf the best meal here we've had thus far in Salta and I would urge readers not to be prejudiced against this restaurant just because it is in a hotel. The prices were very reasonable too and the wine by the glass good quality."

"Los mejores quesos que se puedan probar en Argentina están acá. Si te atiende el chico joven, que entiendo es el dueño, te asesora muy bien y no te vas a ir de ahí sin llevarte alguna de las delicias que venden. Es el lugar para conseguir quesos estilo francés, bebidas que no venden en otros lugares, chocolates suizos, jamón crudo cortado a cuchillo mejor que el del Museo del Jamón, productos nacionales e importados de la mejor calidad en Salta. Sí o sí pedir pan casero para acompañar la picada, sale calentito y es el mejor pan del mundo. Voy 2 o 3 veces al mes."

"This place was a little tricky to find, there's no significant signage, but it was worth the search! We arrived around 8.30, early by local standards, and we were the first to be seated for the night. The food way exceeded any expectations, the type and quality I would have expected from a high end restaurant back home for 1/10th of the price! Service was excellent. I would almost return to Salta just to eat here again!"
