"One of the best three course meals I have had in a long long time. Starters were very good, mains were very very good and puddings were to die for. Throughly recommend the take on beef wellington that they do. Prices were reasonable bearing in mind the current climate. Would give 6 stars if I could."

"Restaurant was a little short staffed but did not affect the quality of the food . We had the salmon fillet and the seabass , cant remember the dessert except that it was excellent . Accompanied by a decent bottle of malbec . Slightly disappointed that they could not make expresso martinis but would difinitely eat here again."

"Excellent food with great service. Small restaurant but definitely the best I have been to in Grasmere and it is many years since I have enjoyed a meal as much anywhere in the Lake District. We had the special starters. Crostini were wonderful and the starter portion tortelloni was excellent. My wife had hake which was perfectly cooked and I had the lamb which was great. And both were decent sized portions (unlike so many so called fancy restaurants). No hesitation in recommending."

"We visited for Sunday lunch. The pub is under new management. The 3 course meal is excellent value. The food we had was delicious. My only grumble is I am vegetarian, and didn’t fancy a pasta main dish on a Sunday Dinner. I chose 2 starters instead. Please consider a nut roast Sunday lunch "
