"Yikes, where to start? Came in for the first time and not one person said hello or greeted us. A girl with curly reddish hair just barked at us saying “sit wherever”. Um ok, thanks. Threw menus down at the table without saying anything else, then our waiter comes over (he was nice at least) and explains that they don’t have any pizza sauce at the moment so we either wait 30 mins extra or get something without pizza sauce. Running out of pizza sauce! Not sure where the replacement sauce was coming from in 30 mins, Hy Vee I guess? Anyways, kids were hungry so decide to order a pepperoni pizza with Alfredo sauce as a substitute. Comes out about 20 mins later, absolutely COVERED in grease. Realized after eating a few slices, there was actually no sauce on this pizza at all. We couldn’t tell because of the absolute drenching of grease. Our daughter (who is a pizza fanatic) wouldn’t eat more than a bite. Only reason this warrants 1 star is our waiter was nice and made things right with some billing miscommunication. Needless to say this was a one and done try of this place as we wont be back. Sad because we really wanted to like this place we just moved to the area and live just down the street."

"Heard many great things about Verde, so my wife and I tried it tonight and I'm so happy we did. She ordered the Carne Papas, and I ordered the Al Pastor, then we split the Rice Beans dish. From preparation to taste it was all amazing. The staff was great as well. We'll be back to try different dishes for sure."

"Absolute horrible service! Waited 2 hours for pancakes with batter and found a huge hair clump in my omelette. I think they spiked my coffee with some columbian coke too. with Scarred for life after this horrendous experience. Never eating at low end restaurants again! #yucko"

"Don't let the strip mall location fool you, this is a serious high end restaurant. Limited, top end menu that is mix and match to make your plate uniquely yours. Great service. We had Peter, although he didn't know anything about wine, he absolutely knew how to open, pour and present like a pro. We both had pork dishes (it's Iowa). Mine was as good as I've ever had, along with asparagus and risotto that was perfect. Food: 5"
