"This place has marked all their vegan items on their menu with a blue V. You have the green vegan V but for some reason, that is vegetarian, so make sure you are looking for the blue. This place is located on Alvarado- a perfect street for locals and tourists to get a taste of Monterey. You choose your own table and then either order on your phone or go to the counter and order. I don't know if this has changed because of COVID, but I'm not a fan. The prices for the pizza were quite hefty for ordering on your phone. $20 for a personal size vegan pizza. I have the red marinara with vegan cheese and vegan sausage. They put too much vegan cheese, so it was super gummy and just fell in globes when you picked up a slice. The vegan sausage was very tasteful and delicious. They just seemed to skip how much they gave you. Maybe two tablespoons for the whole pizza. The red sauce was AMAZING. If I came back, I would have just ordered the sauce and not ruined it with the vegan cheese. Updated by previous review on 2022-10-22"

"This place has a huge list of vegetarian sandwich, most of which can be easily vegan. the beautiful thing is that they do not have to tell them what to veganize, they just order the sandwich, but ask to make it vegan. I have the sally veganized and it was delicious. they use tofurkey discs for the truthahn. the vegan cheese was a melted white cheese - not sure the brand. veggies were fresh, especially the avocado! do not skip the place we are. monterey is not the best when it comes to vegan options, but this sun business is superb!"
