"Myself and my husband went to Pizza Express for a mid week meal after getting a gift card for christmas. we booked a table to ensure we had one but when we arrived the restaurant was almost empty. we assume this was because there was some snow so people staying in plus was mid week. We got a friendly welcome from the waitress on arrival and could chose where we sat. the menu all looked very nice and i opted for bruschetta to start and my husband had the garlic bread. each were both about £5/6 which for the size of them we thought was a bit much, but saying that they were freshly made and very tasty the pizzas we had were lovely too. mine was a La Reine and my husband had the calzone for dessert i had the hot drink plus mini dessert throughout the evening the waitress was attentive and friendly. the only downside of the evening was that the restaurant was sooo cold! the poor waitress just had a tshirt and jeans on and she admitted she was very cold. we appreciate that energy is very expensive and it was a cold night, but it made the meal rather uncomfortable. we mentioned it to the manager at the end and she advised they're not allowed to turn the heat up. Shame we'd go back again but if it's winter, we'll wear thick jumpers! that aside, great service and a tasty meal."
