"My husband and I went for dinner yesterday evening to the Cattle Baron. We ate in the lounge. The restaurant is very attractive with very good service. My husband had the steak sandwich ....he said it was ok. I ordered the salmon and was very surprised by the color of it. It was quite tasteless and kind of mushy. I ate about half of the very generous portion. When the waitress came to collect the plates, I asked her what kind of salmon this was. She told me it was farmed salmon !! It does not say this anywhere on the menu! I am very opposed to eating farmed salmon, I do not agree with the methods used and I felt very violated that the menu does not stipulate this! I feel this is a very underhanded thing to do. I will not be returning to this restaurant!"

"While vacationing in the Canadian Rockies for 10 days, we ate at a different restaurant every night. We tried everything from local pizza places to Eden at the Rim Rock hotel in Banff (a very posh dining experience). While Trough in Canmore was an excellent contender for best meal, Big Fish in Calgary on our last night was truly outstanding. The service was impeccable and the meal was consistently wonderful. Our appetizers were delicious (mussels and seafood chowder), and both our fish entrees (trout and walleye) were perfectly cooked and truly delicious, with lovely accompanying sides (especially the wild rice combo with the walleye)."

"Went for date night, we were early but thwy we able to accommodate us. The hostess was nice, the server as well bit a little slow. The buffet was a little disappointing, just a little basic. We had some nice cuts of meat, flavorful. But there was a few tough, gristley and very dry pieces. Was disappointed the pineapple only came around once. Price was not a huge shocker. Probably won't return but may try Pampa next time."

"As usual great ribs! We found the loaf of onion rings to be a little on the light side, more like 3/4 of a loaf and very lightly packed. Took a few requests to have the selection of sauces brought to our table. But after shift change things went smoothly."

"Earl’s on 32nd Ave and Barlow Trail NE Calgary used to be a go to place for a long time. We have frequented the place for over a decade. Lately both services and food quality is being terribly compromised. No Happy and welcoming greetings from...the front end staff , poor service at the table and more importantly the food quality was a disaster. Not to mention the leather backrest in the booth was stinking. Smelled like had been wiped with a stinking wet cloth. 6:30pm on Thursday evening was surprisingly not really busy. 5 booths occupied and most of them had two people in them. There was staff walking around and not once did anyone stop to check on us. The water in the jug brought to our table was actually lukewarm. We had to wait a while for our server and to ask for cold water. He fixed the problem by pouring some ice in the jug. No the water jug was not removed from our table and replaced with fresh one. We could have had better service and food quality at Jo’s Cafe or even a fast food establishment. Date of visit: March 2022"
