"We took the ferry over to the Ile du Frioul from Marseille not knowing much about the island, other than it should be nice for lunch and a walk. On arrival at the small port we found a row of 10 or 12 restaurants all with menus outside trying to attract the arriving visitors. It was a Sunday but most restaurants were serving snack lunches of paninis, moules or salads. We entered L'Orange Bleue which had a nice terrace and seemed popular. We initally just ordered some drinks and as it was 2.30pm asked if food was still available, hoping to be able to get a quick snack. However our luck was in, the waitress brought out a specials board with a full 3 course menu on it. We just chose a main course, we had a lamb brochette dish and a duo of fish and prawns. Both turned out to be excellent modern gourmet style dishes, served with mashed potatoes, soft cheesy polenta and provencale vegetables. A real surprise and a delight. The food was averagely priced at 20 euros for a main course. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Frioul and can't wait to return! Also, I do not have the full details, but we found out that the restaurant is only open in summer on Frioul but moves to Barcelonette in winter where it operates under the same name."
