"To write this review, made me feel contradictory, on the one hand I want to tell everyone about this great restaurant called The Brock House, but on the other hand I want to keep this jewel a secret for me. But let us really be, it would be impossible to keep this place a secret, especially when you look at the growing food scene in the region of Durham, it was just a matter of time until this shooting star made its way into the spotlight. What's the food? Its pretty good, the roasted Calamari is crispy and well seasoned, the Brisket sandwich is generously packed and the pizzas are fantastically occupied and stuffed. This only covers what we have ordered, there is a ton more to choose and I look forward to trying the other items in the menu. What about the service? Excellent, we sat and served quickly. The staff was attentive and ensured satisfaction. If you find yourself in the area, you should definitely pass. Good food at great prices."

"A friend and I visited last night my third time. The place was virtually empty. We asked for a booth but they weren't sure they had one to accommodate us....again the place was empty. Lo and behold they found one after walking around the restaurant first to scout out a seat. We were seated by a woman who pretty much grunted at seating us. The staff is not friendly. The smiles are few and robotic comes to mind. I ordered the chicken Ceasar. It was tasty but it had 3 small slices of chicken and huge undercooked croutons. $15. I was starving afterwards as expected that to be a main. State &Main is not on the list for repeat visits. 3 strikes and they are OUT!"

"I had steak and mushroom pie with salad. While it look great i was disappointed. There very little steak and mushroom inside, it was overly salty and very watery inside. The staffs are great. I would still good back but order something else. To the owner, please check on the food to make sure they are up to par."

"Ordered 3 buckets of 16 pieces with the fixings, fed a group of approximately 20 people, everyone loved the chicken, and found the biscuits amazing, 1 bucket left over! The chicken pieces were huge and perfectly cooked. If it’s fried chicken, from now on it will be Churches Chicken!"

"I ordered via Uber Eats. I normally get the BBQ Brisket Hash or French Toast which are BOTH amazing and never disappoint. Today tho.... I decided to try something different and ordered the Mushroom Bucatini which is AWFUL!!!Pasta is gravely overcooked, nearing the consistency of mashed potatoes while drowing in a thick lumpy cream sauce. There's about 5 mushrooms in it and you can smell the truffle, not really taste it but smell it.To add insult to injury, the serving aize was rude and disrespectful short considering it was $29 tax for tasteless mushy pasta drowning in a lumpy cream sauce. Maybe the small serving was an angel in disguise for me to tell everyone:DO NOT ORDER THIS!Greater than half of the container is just lumpy sauce."
