"First visit and we were very impressed. Great choices on the menu, prices are good, and the service is excellent. Very friendly and attentive staff, food was fresh and tasty and drinks well prepared. The cakes look to die for but we were being well behaved this time. Next time, the Kinder Brownie is going to be on the order for sure! We'll be back and we highly recommend. Support local!"

"Called here Friday having never been before, we were met by friendly staff shown to our table, 3 of us ordered fish, chips mushy peas all were excellent, YES there were notes on tables denoting bookings but is the pub expected to turn down trade and rely on passing trade? at no time were we rushed and had a pleasant lunch will be back now we know the location."

"Got to say the Food is amazing,I have eaten here every night for the last 3 nights. Only thing that let it down was the service, they totally forgot my colleagues steak pie, so he ate after us, but they refunded his meal , which was very fair, but still tried to add the 10% service charge . Then again tonight it was a 2 hr seating as waited an hour for food, needs more attentive staff, as they just walk past you all the time not taking in people waiting for food, or drinks. There is well enough staff on shift, just a lack of organisation, and again a service charge loaded on, so I got it removed. Service charge beware all, this seems to be loaded on as standard Everywhere these days"

"We had a nice and fast lunch here and our tour in chester. it took a few minutes until our waitress realized that we wanted to sit, but there are two in the caffe. the menu had a good selection of products and after we ordered our tee and sandwiches, arrived very quickly. everything tasted very good. if we had not been in such a hurry, we would probably have ordered one of their delicious looking desserts. the price was quite reasonable and the atmosphere was very unique. eating sandwiches under the vault was very funny. the historical information about the walls were fascinating to read. a fun place to have a quick bite."

"Tried it twice , first time thought ok an off day , Lamb was just Gristle it wasnt Lamb it was Mutton my Wife had Large Donner on Nan bread Nan arrived it wasn't Nan it was a Tortilla wrap. Forgot we ordered from there , it was lockdown , ordered again same things but this time worse Lamb inedible in Mixed Kebab , Very little Chicken , mostly Donner and overcooked Shish. My Wife's Donner was literally burnt , it stood up on it's own. Never again. On the Positive side we got a Free Garlic and Cheese Bread so at least we had something we could enjoy. Shape up guys , you should be able to do better than this especially in lockdown. Customers have long memories when it comes to expensive disappointing food."

"The last breakfast in Chester before heading home and once again NOT disappointed with finding another little gem of a place. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. Fresh and hot. The sausages are local and were delicious. My partner opted for the mixed berries on toast (I think it was blueberries strawberries) and throughly enjoyed hers. If I stayed here for another week. You would have had to role me to the train station. If you are looking to start the day off with a cup of tea/coffee and a good breakfast . Try this out. Well worth it. Very clean and the staff were really friendly, chatty and most accommodating."
