"Can’t disagree with all the other negative reviews don’t recommend this hotel. We have stayed in many James Places hotels and they were all excellent but I have to say this is the worst hotel I have stayed in. Needs a good cleaning top to bottom all the tables in the hotel had stains on them. Shame this hotel is set in an amazing backdrop to Lancashire green and pleasant landscape. Staff friendly enough but lacked enthusiasm ."

"Lovely spot by the river, quite busy today. staff very busy but friendly and helpful. The food has never disappointed here, and today was no exception. great quality and tasty plate meat pie, chips and peas. Portion size perfect, a little expensive, but otherwise no complaints."
