"My Husband and I attended this evening, and arrived at 7.15pm. The restaurant was quiet, with minimal tables occupied. One lone Barman was tidying the bar area. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, despite the restaurant clearly being quiet. When I advised the young waitress of this, her reply was “well I only have one pair of hands” waving them in my face. We took our seats and said we would like to have a carvery. No direction at all was given other than “help yourself” and we had to walk around the restaurant to find the food service area. This was absolutely disgusting. Food was on the floor, a clear slip hazard. The food that was available looked like it had been out for days. We decided that we would not be staying. I asked if there was a Duty Manager available so that I could give feedback, a pleasant girl pointed to herself and did apologise when I stated what I have written. My usual Toby carvery is in Formby, and this standard is what I would expect from all Toby restaurants. From the general presentation of the restaurant, the attitude and service from the staff, and the appalling food display, Waterside has let your brand down hugely. Very, very disappointed."
